Jude Law says London's Daily Telegraph report that he might play Halston in an upcoming Weinstein Co. film was premature.

"While it's an interesting idea, there are no plans for Jude to play Halston in any upcoming film project," said a spokesman for the actor.

Weinstein Co.'s documentary is still in the early stages of development and hasn't been cast yet. It's believed Law might be attached to another Halston project being made by Killer Films, WWD reports

Jude Law is set to play Halston in a new movie about the louche designer. According to Telegraph, the sleek and sexy 1970s label is set for a revival . Halston will relaunch this spring under the collective forces of movie boss Harvey Weinstein, Jimmy Choo's Tamara Mellon, Hollywood stylist Rachel Zoe and ex-Versace designer Marco Zanini.

Today, Marco Zanini was named the new Creative Director for Halston, the legendary American label most famous for their coveted jersey dresses. Zanini has a rich, extensive background working in fashion design -- he comes to Halston from Versace, where he was head designer of women’s wear, ready-to-wear, and haute couture. He will work with Versace until the Spring 2008 shows in September and then move from Versace's headquarters in Milan to his new home working with Halston in New York.

In the past, Zanini has also worked as an assistant to Lawrence Steele, and then worked with Domenico Dolce at Dolce & Gabbana, before making the switch to Versace in 1999, where he has been ever since.

Zanini is expected to bring a fresh new flair to Halston, since he will be overseeing all design and maintaining Halston's image. The idea, reports Fashion Week Daily, will be to "revive the Studio 54 glamour and elegance that Halston generated with his signature jersey dresses that have become a go-to for Hollywood’s most glamorous actresses today."
