Kate Moss gets supersizedSubmitted by Stavros on Wed, 2007-08-08 22:57.
Big names deserve big sculptures, and Kate Moss is a “gigantic name” when it comes to fashion, so why wouldn’t she have a 10-feet tall white-painted bronze sculpture of herself? Well, the always popular supermodel is getting that plus more, as she will be the center of attention at the Beyond Limits sale of modern and contemporary sculpture at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire The “magnificent” elaboration has been designed by Marc Quinn, a British artist whose Sphinx sculptures capturing Kate Moss in a series of yoga poses toured the world in 2006. Quinn admires the British icon deeply and he strongly believes that she is an inspiration to us all. The new sculpture appears as a high version of his previous work the "Sphinx", and it’s expected to be as refreshing as its predecessor . During the hard process of the sculpture’s elaboration, it has been reported that Kate Moss helpfully attended every time it was requested to Quinn’s studio in London. While the head and body of the sculpture belong to Kate Moss for real, Quinn has worked with another model to sculpt the actual pose. |
Roberto Cavalli's new menswear face: Pete DohertySubmitted by Stavros on Fri, 2007-07-13 22:41.
Hedi’s favorite Dior-addict Pete Doherty was selected to be the face of Roberto Cavalli’s latest ad campaign. He is a bad-ass boy, he loves to party and blows anything around him; yet Robert Cavalli felt that Doherty was the proper man to represent his latest line. The advertisements were shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott in Ibiza along with Pete’s “former” girlfriend Kate Moss - Roberto’s womenswear face. As expected, none of the fall pieces are shown and both ads portray Pete’s splendid rockish look. Basically, they dressed him as he does every other day and took some pictures of him staring at nothing in particular. The new ads are way better than last year’s flamboyant Latin pictures - well, just a blank space would have been better than those. And they do not show any of Cavalli’s pieces, which is a total plus. I had never imagined Pete Doherty as a Cavalli model, I was absolutely surprised when I found out about the news. I still wonder if they chose him truly because of his appearance and social image, or if they chose him as some sort of deal with Kate Moss. |
