The perfect spring jacket - Veronique Branquinho Spring-Summer 2008 'mens'Submitted by Stavros on Tue, 2007-07-03 23:16.Fashion | Fashion Shows | Mens | Runway Review | Spring 2008 | Spring-Summer 2008 | SS 08 | Veronique Branquinho
I have this thing with jackets, I can‘t control. I’m somehow obsessed with finding the perfect jacket for each occasion. And not only for a certain season, but for many situations as well. I like fitted shoulders, nice soft fabrics - you know, jackets that ooze self-confidence. It doesn’t seem like a hard item to find, but the truth is that it’s not that easy. Luckily for me and some others, one of my ideal spring jackets was recently presented by Veronique Branquinho. I don’t really know what it is made of, but it seems to be like some mixture of cashmere and cotton - perfect. It’s this type of jacket that I like the most; easy to wear on any spring day with just a pair of jeans and a white v-neck. The color is glorious, a perfect gray. Not to light, not to obscure. A garment that brilliantly exposes the Belgian aesthetics. The rest of the outfit should be left behind, it’s just vulgar - way too H&M for my judgment. |
Veronique Branquinho's adorable winter sweaters.Submitted by Stavros on Sat, 2007-06-16 01:03.For the upcoming fall season you need to have the always wearable stylish sweaters - you know, those sweaters you can use over and over again without looking ridiculous. So your money has to be invested wisely and properly. My choice for this fall - apart from my regulars - is without a doubt:Veronique Branquinho. These christmas-like wool sweaters are just more than amusing, yet they are so simply in style. This winter you don't need to wear flashy flashy garments to catch passing glances, just wear pieces like these above and show-off the right amount of charisma and they'll do the trick. Nevertheless, it's appropriate to compliment diverse outfits with a glimpse of colors; deep violets and creamy blues are among my favorites. The rest of the menswear collections is just as good. The Belgian designer oozes profound apprehension of conceptual ideas. Her collection is cold, but warm at the same time. It's a less obscure and "boxier" version of Ann Demeulemeester. Please do know that I'm referring to the ready-to-wear pieces available in Veronique's racks, not the runway outfits. |
