Graduate Fashion Week

Graduate Fashion Week will celebrate the work of more than 1000 of the finest BA Degree fashion students from 49 member universities across the UK, for the biggest showcase of young talent in the world. Graduate Fashion Week is now a firm fixture in the diaries of those in the know. Last year some of our fashionable guests included Victoria Beckham, Lanvin's Alber Elbaz, Glenda Bailey of Harpers Bazaar USA, Mulberry’s Stuart Vevers, Zandra Rhodes, Jimmy Choo OBE, Liberty’s Design Director Tamara Salman, Hilary Alexander (Daily Telegraph), Sophia Neophitou (10 Magazine), Suzy Menkes (International Herald Tribune), Colin McDowell (Sunday Times Style) and Clare Waight Keller (Pringle).

The 2007 Graduate Fashion Week has come to and end, honoring the best and brightest of the UK's talented aspiring designers. Victoria Beckham was on hand at the event to present the River Island Gold Award to two of the winners, Nicholas Thomas and Jasper Chadprajong. Both won 10,000 pounds.

Other winners included Lilli Rose Wicks, of Somerset College of Design, who won the Visionary Knitwear Award; Jessica Clarke (Manchester Metropolitan University), who received the Zandra Rhodes Catwalk Textiles Award; and Kelly Shaw (University of East London), who took home the Womenswear Award.

Beckham herself was also a judge of the competition. Other judges included Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Glenda Bailey, Lanvin artistic director Alber Elbaz, and River Island managing director Richard Bradbury.
