If you're a die-hard loyal Pucci fan, here's something for you. The Santa Maria della Scala museum in Italy will be hosting an exhibit entitled the “Palio Collection,” a collection of clothes Emilio Pucci design in 1957 to celebrate the city’s renowned horse race.
TIt is curate by Alessandra Arezzi Boza and margherita Anselmi Zondadari, is oepn for viewing June 28-Sept 9, and features drawings, sketches, color charts, prints, and clothes of the collection. It included eveningwear, cocktail dresses, daywear, blouses, bathing suits, and terry cloth pieces. "Pucci presented his clothes at Palazzo Pitti’s Sala Bianca, with 17 models dressed in silk blouses and pants of different colors and patterns that represented the heraldic colors of the Contrade, Siena’s medieval city quarters," according to an article in WWD. the prints were all inspired by artifacts from the 15th century.
it's great to see so many fashion exhibits opening around the world. Too many people view fashion as a frivolity and not an art--it's nice to see designers getting the credit they deserve!
