Twenty8Twelve Spring 2008 Launch Party

Twenty8Twelve, the much-anticipated clothing line from sister duo Sienna and Savannah Miller, had its spring launch party on Thursday night at Gramercy park Hotel in New York. The launch party was crowded with high-profile actors, execs, stylists, designers, and fashion editors -- it seems everybody wants to get in on the Twenty8Twelve hype. Guests included Anne Hathaway, Agyness Deyn, Benjamin Cho, and Rachel Zoe, among others. The Miller sisters, of course, were wearing some of their own designs for the launch.

The collection was inspired by "Patti Smith, Keith Richards, free-thinking, radical people who aren't influenced by others," Sienna said in InStyle magazine. The line will be sold at stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Holt Renfew.

A Fashionably Political Party

Last night was the launch party for Tara McKelvey's new book, Monstering: Inside America’s Policy of Secret Interrogations and Torture in the Terror War. The party was hosted by Marie Claire Editor Joanna Coles and filled with fashion industry insiders and many Hearst execs. Guests included Julia Savacool, Gretchen Voss, Belinda Luscombe, Michael Massey, Joyce Caruso Corrigan, and many more.

Though the book covers hard-hitting topics such as George Bush, transnational terrorism, and Al Qaeda, the party was decidedly less political, with conversation topics revolving around things like the recent death of brilliant designer Gianfranco Ferre.

According to a report in Fashion Week Daily, McKelvey (who arrived in an $11 Urban Outfitters dress!) said: “I never fly between New York and Washington, D.C.,” she said, the latter being her hometown. “You can’t bring your perfume with you!” She also admitted with seeming embarrassment that she’s about to have her sixth book party—the last one, she promised—on July 6 in D.C. “But Jello shots will be served,” she laughed. “Green ones.”

CFDA Post-Partying

For many stars and designers, last night's Awards ceremony was only the beginning of the evening, and many rushed off to high-profile parties afterward.

One of the most notable parties was hosted by Sean "Diddy" Combs at the Marquee. Present were Audrey O'Day, Tinsley Mortimer, Richie Rich, Hilary Rhoda, and Robert Burke. Diddy himself was present in a dapper Gucci suit, and proclaimed his love of fashion, saying he is "Up there with the girls!"

Also present were awards winners David Neville and Marcus Wainwright, Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos, formerly of Trovata, and Steven Kolb, executive director of the CFDA.

Nearby, another soiree was going on at Bungalow 8. Notable names present were Calvin Klein designers Francisco Costa, Italo Zucchelli, and Malcolm Carfrae, Donna Karan, Lauren Davis, Rachel Zoe, Esteban Cortezar, Magda Berliner, and more.

Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte threw their own gathering at Passerby. Justin Giunta of Subversive Jewelry hosted his own bash at Smith & Mills. Clearly, it was a busy night for everyone!
