Hedi Slimane

These three finalists are in Los Angeles shooting with Hedi Slimane and Nicola Formichetti for VMAN11. Renan Bonin from Brazil was the People's choice winner..... V Man is meanwhile being slammed by model lovers over the top finalist and the way the competition was handled. Here are some of the comments.
What was the point of voting every day if Vman was going to pick whomever they wanted?
models r so average. look like from a blevel agency...one word..cheap..
I have to admit I am disappointed. Vman, you and Ford had 1000's of guys and quite frankly some Beautiful men. These boy really aren't amazing amazing. They are ok but they are not Blue chip. I understand the industry but I am just comparing the finalist to their competition and I really am are you all for real?

Here is the cover for Hedi Slimane's upcoming Rock Diary.
HEDI SLIMANE ROCK DIARY is a beautifully designed three volume boxed set featuring new photographic work by Hedi Slimane, the iconic fashion designer who, during tenures at Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, has infused men's fashion with an androgynous, rock n' roll swerve. The first volume is an album of Slimane's photographs of the Lollapalooza-esque three-day Festival Internacional de Benicássim on the East coast of Spain, the second is devoted to images of the new British and American rock scenes and the third contains essays on Slimane's work by art critic Vince Aletti and music critic Jon Savage. In a 2003 conversation with Interview's Ingrid Sischy, Slimane discussed his beginnings as a photographer: "I started taking pictures before I even began in fashion. I didn't start with clothes until I was 16, but I had my first camera when I was 11. I've always taken pictures, almost like some people take notes or write down their thoughts." As this collection reveals, Slimane's photographs of the international music scene are as fresh and intrinsic as his paradigm-shifting work in fashion.

As Hedi Slimane purist wait with bated breath for his return to fashion, the creative genius has been busy with the art world. On May 17, 2008, MUSAC in Leon,Spain, presented an exhibition that Hedi Slimane produced for the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León. Through a publication and an installation created expressly for this occasion, Slimane continues his personal exploration of youth aesthetics in relation to music as a factor of construction and transformation of identity. Here are some beautiful views of the installation at the MUSAC in Leon,Spain I am continuingly amazed by Hedi's visual genius ......
