Derek Lam certainly loves a good dress. His Resort 2008 was short -- just 15 looks -- and 14 were dresses (the 15th included a skirt). The dresses ranged from short and sassy to long and flowy. A boxy '60s style trenchcoat rounded out the collection of dresses and gave it a mod, '60s vibe. Many of the pieces echoed that vibe, such as a black and white dress. The collection also contains several solid-colored gowns that are simple, yet quietly fabulous without using any bold prints or textured designs --the shape and flow of the fabric speaks for itself, and with a little help from small, detailed accents, which Lam pays great attention to. The only thing that bothers me about the photos from this collection is the models -- of the two, one is unnaturally skinny and the other is unnaturally angry, and glares at the camera for every photo!
