Artist Helle Mardahl will launch The Largest Possible Audience from April 29-May 30, 2009 at LaViolaBank Gallery.) Helle Mardahl combines art and graphic fashion design. She is educated in fashion design from Central Saint Martins, London and was awarded “Statens Kunstfonds” (the state art fond) a 3 year working grant, providing her with the opportunity to work in the field between fashion, sculpture and installation. She is inspired by her background in fashion and sees fashion as a lifestyle and a reflection on society’s need. She is also highly fascinated by the human individual, our staging of the self and our superficial culture.

The short film is the final result of a series of projects carried out last summer, during the making of the womenswear collection Spring/Summer 2008. The project also includes textiles design, the setting of the hall suitable for the runway show, the wallpaper, photographic sets and the animated short reports FF. |

Works include iconic garments, three-dimensional architectural models and film footage arranged in a series of themes such as shelter, identity, folding and draping - within a new installation designed by Eva Jiricna in the house's grounds. Boudicca, Comme des Garcons, Martin Margiela, Viktor & Rolf, Junya Watanabe, and Yohji Yamamoto are also involved, while Zaha Hadid, David Adjaye, Frank Gehry and Thomas Heatherwick are flying the flag for the architects. |
