Artist Helle Mardahl will launch The Largest Possible Audience from April 29-May 30, 2009 at LaViolaBank Gallery.) Helle Mardahl combines art and graphic fashion design. She is educated in fashion design from Central Saint Martins, London and was awarded “Statens Kunstfonds” (the state art fond) a 3 year working grant, providing her with the opportunity to work in the field between fashion, sculpture and installation. She is inspired by her background in fashion and sees fashion as a lifestyle and a reflection on society’s need. She is also highly fascinated by the human individual, our staging of the self and our superficial culture.

Photographer Chadwick Tyler has this innate ability to capture obscure and sometimes horrific beauty like no other. He has announced his first solo show Tiberius. I have this feeling Chadwick and Riccardo Tisci would play well together!

As Hedi Slimane purist wait with bated breath for his return to fashion, the creative genius has been busy with the art world. On May 17, 2008, MUSAC in Leon,Spain, presented an exhibition that Hedi Slimane produced for the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León. Through a publication and an installation created expressly for this occasion, Slimane continues his personal exploration of youth aesthetics in relation to music as a factor of construction and transformation of identity. Miuccia Prada will unveil "Trembled Blossom", an original animated short film, during New York fashion week, on February 5 at a private event for 1000.

The short film is the final result of a series of projects carried out last summer, during the making of the womenswear collection Spring/Summer 2008. The project also includes textiles design, the setting of the hall suitable for the runway show, the wallpaper, photographic sets and the animated short reports FF.

Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and Hussein Chalayan are taking part in a new exhibition, SKIN+BONES: Parallel Practices in Fashion and Architecture, Vogue UK reports.

SKIN+BONES: Parallel Practices in Fashion and Architecture opens at London's Somerset House next April. The show featuring around 200 works will focus on "visual and conceptual ideas that unite fashion and architecture, dating from the 1980s to the present day."

Works include iconic garments, three-dimensional architectural models and film footage arranged in a series of themes such as shelter, identity, folding and draping - within a new installation designed by Eva Jiricna in the house's grounds. Boudicca, Comme des Garcons, Martin Margiela, Viktor & Rolf, Junya Watanabe, and Yohji Yamamoto are also involved, while Zaha Hadid, David Adjaye, Frank Gehry and Thomas Heatherwick are flying the flag for the architects.
