Alexander Wang and Paris Kain Jewelry



Alexander Wang has a new collaboration for fall with Brooklyn-based jewelry designer Paris Kain of Abraxas Rex. The two teamed up for a small four-style collection of silver cuffs and earrings. T . “We’re working with ways of wearing earrings that aren’t typical,” he says. “How they work on your body, how they hang. We want to push the meaning of embellishment and how people interpret jewelry.”

"There’s no point in creating clothes so out-there, so special that no one can wear them. I try to stay in touch with the customer. We’ve been lucky — our sales are growing. I think we were also pretty lucky to get out a T-shirt line. It’s nice to have a $65 product. But it’s also nice to have a $1,200 dress, say, for that person at Colette. The key now is that dress has to be worth what it costs."




Alastair McKimm replaces Erin Wasson at Alexander Wang



Model Erin Wasson will no longer be assembling the looks for Alexander Wang's runway show, Fashion Week Daily reports. The designer has hired Alastair McKimm. "I love his work and he gets the whole street aesthetic," said Wang. "We connect on a lot of levels."




Alexander Wang To Launch Shoe Collection + diffusion line



Alexander Wang will launch new product for Spring-Summer 2009 season. He will present his first shoe collection, and a diffusion line with a lower-priced label, WWD reports.
