So, I hear the latest thing is high-waisted jeans, and I am NOT loving this trend at all. For some reason I keep seeing people who think they have great style but really don't, such as Fergie and Mischa Barton, running around LA in these ridiculour granny pants. I just have to say, don't fall into the trap! Don't do it! Don't wear these pants! Stick to your normal flattering low-waist jeans and don't be a poster girl for fashion victims like these girls....

Not feeling the ever-popular minidress trend? Try a maxi dress this summer, seen on countless models and celebrities. For a really summery vibe, go for one of the many printed options on the market. From Marc Jacobs to Target and everywhere in between, no matter where you shop or what your budget you're bound to see this trend everywhere. Fans include stars such as Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson, and the Olsen twins, among others.

This summer, everywhere you go, polka dots are in vogue. From runways to city streets to department stores, you can't miss this trend. Polka dots can be cute and flattering, retro and fun. It's not always the most wearable trend for your 9-5 office job, but can be when only used sparingly or paired with a basic blazer or jacket. And this trend doesn't have to be just for the young or reek of Minnie Mouse either - a touch of polka dots can add a refreshing twist to any basic outfit.

Some tips for wearing polka dots:

--If you don't want to wear something too bold like a polka dot dress, try something more modest - like polka dot shoes! There are lots of great options out there.
--Another suggestion is to try tying a polka dot scarf in your hair as a headband, for a touch of something fun and retro.
--Avoid polka dots on the lower half - shorts, capris, or skirts with polka dots will magnify and draw attention to your lower half.
--Do go for polka dot accessories, tops, and even dresses if you're feeling bold.

Just a few months back, when the chic Palais Royal was "flooded" with fashion socialites, Dries Van Noten not only had the delightful pleasure of opening his first boutique in that same city, but he also presented a very well-crafted collection. Edgier than ever, the Belgian born designer, elaborated savvy garments that combined the eclectic contemporary scene with the exquisite old Antwerp.

Among the gorgeous pieces Dries offered for this upcoming fall, the oversized sweater captured my attention. It's not the cut nor the fabric that makes them so incredibly desirable, but it's the combination of styles that these sweaters represent.

The first one(left); it's hip, yet classical.The deep "twisted" v-neck shows some reminiscence of Sonia Rykiel's work in menswear fashion, while the crossed button line adds an entirely new perspective to it. Diversity comes with gray, not only for the garment itself, but for the color palette used by Dries.

Grunge,urban and heroin chic, clash together to create the second oversized sweater(right). This sweater will not only define the outfit anyone might be wearing, but it will give uniqueness to the aesthetic he is pulling off. You might wonder how a "simple looking" sweater might do that, and the answer is by balancing in a proper way your outfit.
