Like Zac Posen, Michael Kors's resort collection features many piece highlighting the waist and creating a beautiful hourglass figure. There are also many pieces that notably contain lots of extra, draping fabric that hangs loosely off the body. That, and there is some fun bikinis and other assorted beachwear. All in all, it's a fabulous amalgamation of a few different key themes brought together for one great collection. There are a few pieces that I felt were strange --such as a bikini top and matching maxi-length skirt, a few dresses that seem too matronly, and some very unusual headgear--but for the most part, this collection is a hit. Simple, mostly neutral colors and the occasional quiet print make for a collection that's slightly more muted than other resort collections but certainly not lacking in fun. There's some very cute skirts, cocktail dresses, and pantsuits, and a coral beaded gown that is to die for. Unlike other designers, Kors choose simplicity, giving models very few accessories so the focus remains on his garments. Looking at this collection, I think I see a little bit of an early '90s vibe peeking through -- do you?
