Austin Sherbanenko's idea of Spring is dark and Obscure. Leather, suede, canvas and denim reworked under Sherbanenko's darker aesthetic, made for something now and unrestrained Odyn Vovk Ukrainian for "one wolf") Spring-Summer 2010 collection "Confined Translation" is a depiction of past events: distant, near and natural. Through environmental undertakings, Odyn Vovk is a direct influence of such measures. Dirt ridden streets, industrial landscapes and sounds of music conveys this collection. Through these imagery, colors revealed themselves during complete demolishment, re-construction and atmosphere.

An Effortless and uninhibited attitude is the focus of Chloé's Autumn Winter 2009/2010 Collecton by Hannah MacGibbon . The essence of this laid-back look focuses primarily on luxurious fabrics borrowed from men’s wardrobes and makes references to uniform dressing: pressed felt, soft flannel and blanket wools.

Robert Geller's Fall Winter 2009 Mens Collection started with Geller's interest in Vienna at the turn of the twentieth, a period considered by Geller, the most romantic, the most elegant in menswear. Vienna's atmosphere of strength, elegance and the constant pursuit of strength inspired the Fall 2009 Robert Geller Collection and relates to his quest to define what is modern in menswear.

It was strange reverse trick, one Raf Simons alluded to in an interview when he stated he was done separating the ideas he pursued at his own label from the ideas for the Jil Sander brand. That went a long way in explaining why the Raf Simons SS09 show contained many pieces that would have been perfect for the conventional idea of the Jil Sander line. Taking the DNA of his design theories as point of departure, Simons proceeded to break apart all that razor sharp tailoring and his legendary sense of precisely calibrated details in shirts, suits,( cuffs, necklines, lapels.) Arms got sliced off jackets. Jackets and pants got fused into some pretty sleek jumpsuits and fabrics tricked the eye, exploring the possibility of clothes forged from paper with a new level of sophistication. The French have this brilliant expression "to be pulled together with four pins" which is a perfect way to describe the rigorous and precise tailoring espoused by Simons. Smart, classic and yet an antithesis to classicism, commercial yet impractical in parts, the show very much DOES what the last Balenciaga showing did for Nicolas Ghesquière. It secures the undeniable fact of the designer's flawless technical control matched by a true gift for advanced design. By Wayne Sterling

Our friends at TI review the Givenchy Spring-Summer 2009 Mens show.
From Look 1 it was obvious that Riccardo Tisci's debut menswear collection for Givenchy had worked out its point-of-view in a thorough and unapologetic way.

My first reaction to Raf Simon's collection for Jil Sander SS 09 was that of a fashion philistine, on the order of... "Who wants to ever wear a color blocked jacket?

[img_assist|nid=4933|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=640|height=330] After the main European events are over, other relevantly important cities throw their own fashion weeks to celebrate their local market and to promote their domestic industry. Yesterday, Copenhagen’s own local fashion event which had Henrik Vibskov as the main attraction and also presented some truly amazing newcomers, ended. But as that one finalized, Stockholm gave birth to its own fashion week which promises to be better than ever. Today was the formal opening day at Stockholm’s fashion week and Bjorn Borg’s own-name sportswear label had the delightful privilege of being the first brand to grace the runway. You probably remember him as one of the greatest tennis players of the last decades - or in other case as the famous tennis player who became broke and had to start selling his prizes to survive - and you probably assume that he keeps playing senior class tournaments just like many others. But that’s not the case. Instead he decided to launch his own label and try some luck in the tough fashion industry. Even though he hasn’t go massive or anything similar yet, he sportswear label is quite famous in his homeland as well as other Scandinavian countries. His “sportswear” label portrays highly urban garments which are actually impressive. I mean, when I first found out about his label I was expecting to see the usual boring stuff; but instead I was completely amazed. There are many pieces that I would actually consider wearing when hitting the gym. The jackets are nice and hip, the sweat pants are SLIM, and he offers really short “old-school meets Stockholm” type of shorts. After witnessing such a nicely conceived collection, I highly doubt that he is truly involved in the actual process of designing every line - his team does all the work I presume. Nevertheless, I have this crazy idea of him becoming the next Lacoste. I know this will ever happened, but it’s impossible not to compare his label with Rene’s. They were both tennis world champions, they both created sportswear labels, and they both wanted to succeed in the fashion industry. Quite the hard thing to achieve, isn't it?
