Shoe God Christian Louboutin was in New York’s famed Bergdorf Goodman on October 22, 2009 to present his Fall 2009 shoe collection. The event was a total success with many Louboutinistas lining up to have their brand new shoes signed by the designer as they sipped champagne and ate h’dourves awaiting their turn.

Steve Madden's Chap Boots (left), are a direct copy (minus the signature red) of Christian Louboutin's Emily Shoe Boots, $925. Priced at $150, the affordable shoes were profiled on fabsugar.com . After the post pointing out the similarities the shoes have disappeared from Steve Madden . The clones comes in a handful of other colors (black leather, black patent, creme, brown, grey, saddle, fuchsia and mustard) and has 4.25-inch heels.

Now the question, did Christian Louboutin threaten to sue or was pre-order demand overwhelming ?

update : the Steven Madden link is live again, so probably just an error when we visited earlier . Also the shoe I listed on the left is actually Christian Louboutin....both are..... the Madden shoe looks nothing like that ...its actually quite ugly
