Tommy Hilfiger Corp is restructuring KARL LAGERFELD's business model reports Vogue UK. Tommy Hilfiger Corp has has licensed KARL LAGERFELD's's ready-to-wear collection to Italian manufacturer Vaprio Stile aimed at improved delivery times, merchandising and price positioning, as well as generating expansion plans for America and the Far East.
"We continue to believe that volumes are far from what they should be," Anne Marino, president of licensing for Karl Lagerfeld, tells WWD.
"Karl Lagerfeld is a much smaller business than what the name would suggest. There is a big job to be done to grow the business to its proper potential. We intend to control the brand, the creative direction thereof, the marketing and licensing activities, but we plan to license the commercial activities for the various product groups, in several tiers of the business, to various specialists."
