Oh Sienna. Once upon a time in 2003 when you were dating Jude Law you seemed to have it all. A faithful (until the whole infidelity thing) and handsome boyfriend, a burgeoning film career and most importantly a great wardrobe. Sure, you were rocking ‘boho chic’ and were being lauded for your style as if you created the actual trend but who cares, you were young, you were sexy and you could dress. If we are to be completely honest, you were probably the reason that long gypsy skirts, ethnic jewellery and ridiculously big floppy hats were all over high street stores in England. No matter if you were rocking Matthew Williamson or Burberry or whatever Kate Moss had rocked five years prior, between 2003-2004 thousands of mini Sienna’s were walking the streets London. You were the people’s boho princess complete with your cute little nose and easy smile, you were a tabloid whet dream. What went wrong is that you started believing the hype. In short you began to think that whatever you wore was fashion and chic. Honey, it does not matter how hot you are, a discoloured beanie hat, ill fitted rock n roll t-shirt with equally ill fitted leggings and ugg boots (in the summer) is not making it into anyone’s look book anytime soon. Now don't get me wrong 'photoshopped' Sienna is a sight for sore fashion eyes. Witness the 2008 Tods and Pepe ad campaigns and you can't deny when professionally directed she really has something. What I’d like to see is a ban on referring to any celebrity as a ‘fashion icon’ until they have been in their chosen profession for at least ten years. There is nothing more unsightly than seeing a bad dress and a colossal ego on such a sweet girl.
