Gianfranco Ferré, known for his amusing perception of style, died a few hours ago after suffering from a massive hemorrhage. The Italian designer, known as the “architect of fashion”, was 62 years old.
Ferré gave birth to his career as a jewelry and accessory designer, and then he decided to move on to bigger things. He was once the creative director of Dior, where he dazzled the eyes of many. The Spring 2008 line that he was working on has not yet be confirmed to appear in the next fashion show.
Industry friends, like Giorgio Armani, have already stated their thoughts. “We knew each other for many years, although not very well, as we both started our careers in what was a special moment for Italian fashion. However, I always observed his work and particularly admired him for his coherence and the intellectualism and artistry upon which he based his fashion philosophy until the end. The greatest sign of his character was in that constant expression of absolute independence.” he said.
For the time being no information regarding funeral arrangements was presented to the media.
