By now it's old news that everyone and their best friend and their mother is trying to design something or other -- or at least attach their name to a line and pretend they designed it. So in keeping with that trend, it comes as no surprise that Ashley Judd has stirred up some publicity for herself by signing on to design a collection for low-cost retailer Goody Clothing Co. She is designing three lines, call AJ, Ashley Judd, and Love, Ashley. The collections will feature casuals such as knit tees, denim, and sweaters.
"I'm thrilled to be involved in a clothing line that provides simple, lovely solutions for women's wardrobes," Judd said in a statement released by the company. "I've always loved items that you can throw on easily and know that you'll feel and look good."
"Ashley can relate to our customers and their fashion needs through her Southern roots and simple elegant style," said Mary Kwan, president and chief merchandising officer at Goody's.
That sound you hear? Me rolling my eyes. Sure, I believe that a millionaire starlet seeking publicity cares about women who want to be fashionable on a tight budget! Just like I believe Paris Hilton is an angel and doesn't deserve to be in jail...
