Filippa K is one of Sweden's leading fashion labels. Throughout the past years it has managed to become an icon in Europe's juvenile stylish artsy scene, and they continue to grow at great speed. Contemporary garments with an edgy feel that expose Scandinavia's audacious vibe, without avoiding other influences, is an almost perfect way to describe the work done by Filippa Knutsson.
Simplicity is everything for Filippa. Making a fond use of the Keep-it-simple-stupid rule, she has managed to overcome the great barriers of the industry. Nevertheless, the exquisite aesthetic that is normally exposed in the super designs by other regionals such as Martin Margiela and Dries Van Noten, is clearly visible. The light french-ish pants, the gorgeous shoes, and the slim silhouettes are some of the Filippa's key ingredients.
For the Fall-Winter 2007 season, she has used a very similar color palette to the one used by Raf Simons for Jil Sander the previous season. The menswear line itself has a Raf reminiscence, but a little more it's structural - not meaning that it's a good thing. The garments from this collection won't dazzle your eye yet, but these shoes might do the trick.
So gorgeous; so smooth and minimalist that you gotta have them. They're usually compared to those by Hedi, and they have effortlessly become a must have item to the androgynous boys of fashion. The white one does not really appeal my eye, but that just a mere singularity. Not every color is displayed on their website, but let me assure that they are brilliantly amusing. Oh, and let me not forget about the boots; those are insanely amazing.
