Sometimes I do like to talk about single garments that attract me for several different reasons - they can be amazingly gorgeous or the exact opposite. This time the sweatshirt I'm presenting just appealed to my eye, not for it's singularity, but for the childish innocent "fun" that it exudes in large quantities.
Rei Kawakubo is known for designing eccentric state of the art pieces that dazzle mostly every man. She He is one of the heavy-hitters at the fashion shows, and her runway presentations are as crowded as the streets of Tokyo. When she elaborated the "Golden Boy" concept last season she reinvented once more herself and many eyes suddenly fell on her - positively.
The sparkling golden pants were the hot item of the show, but the sinless t-shirt with Rei's emblem also attracted some spectators. I wasn't too allured by it, I thought it had a relatively huge print and the ideal Rei tries to depict is "corrupted" by the lightness of the garment. The sweatshirt draws my attention since my perception of it is that it's a cozy wearable item, that not only allows me to throw on something really comfortable - yet kind of nice , but it also transmits the concept of Commes des Garcon.
