I love fashion blogs. A lot. So I am just a tiny bit (or more) excited about the newest addition to the fashion 'blogosphere': the legendary, amazing, godly, MANOLO BLAHNIK. The man is revered by fashionistas the world over, and has become a household name. And now, he will be opening a new website, manoloblahnik.com, which he will update regularly with his thoughts, design ideas, and news updates. It will also include his biography and store information, but the blog-esque part of the website is bound to be the coolest. How many other designers can say they've done that? It is an interesting marketing tactic and I want to see what it does for the company. Politicians like Howard Dean have realized that the internet, especially blogs and social networking sites, give them unprecedented access to a younger crowd, and now it looks like designers are getting on the bandwagon too. Will this new idea boost Manolo Blahnik sales? We'll find out...check out www.manoloblahnik.com.
