As of Friday, Popular New York socialite and celebutante Tinsley Mortimer signed with Dior agreeing to be the new face of Dior Beauty - by serving as Dior Beauty Ambassador in the U.S. Tinsley says she is a frequent user of Dior beauty products and a fan of Dior's designs - she was recently seen in the front row of the Dior Cruise Collection Show.
Her new 'job' will consist of promoting Dior beauty products and hosting Dior Beauty events. Says the brand: "Her unique combination of style, visibility, and nonstop energy will help round out Dior Beauty’s roster of bold-face names, including Sharon Stone and Charlize Theron."
Well, as if Tinsley Mortimer's calendar wasn't packed enough with charity balls, shopping dates, and strategically avoiding paparazzi (or not), she now has one more thing to add to that: being a muse for Dior.
But here's my question: Tinsley Mortimer, a socialite, as a muse? Why are designers picking socialites when they formerly always chose actresses? Tinsley Mortimer has fashioned herself after Paris Hilton, becoming famous for...well, nothing. She rocketed to fame after Socialite Rank became popular. Isn't Dior supposed to pick someone classier, like they did with Charlize Theron? Whatever sells the product, I guess.
