Giles Deacon Spring-Summer 2010

British designer Giles Deacon - who won France's 160,000 euro National Association for the Development of the Fashion Arts (ANDAM) award this year - presented a series of wearable, yet fashion-forward looks for Spring-Summer 2010

He explained: "I wanted to do obtainable clothes that are much more real life."

Socialite Daphne Guinness was Giles' muse, and opened and closed the show.

The collection featured daytime clothes as well as evening wear.

Spider motifs were a big look with one sleeveless cocktail dress in blue/green silk featuring an arachnid print laid over the top.

Other key pieces included a puffball mini-dress and a gold skirt suit.

Lemon, pink and orange corset dresses and pink and gold shift dresses were all offered as evening looks.

The key trend for footwear was kitten heels, while bags were made to look like dinosaurs.

Giles said: "I started from the feet - a new look with new shoe proportions."

This is the first year Giles has shown in the French capital, having previously debuted his collection at London Fashion Week.

He explained: "I didn't mind missing London Fashion Week this year because I was in Paris. The thing with fashion week is that we're always working. I heard there were some great shows though, and that it was a really buoyant event."
