In the early 2000s, English rock band The Libertines was at the forefront of the renewed interest in rock. The band was centered on the song-writing partnership of Pete Doherty (vocals/rhythm guitar) and Carl Barât (vocals/lead guitar), and was backed by John Hassall (bass) and Gary Powell (drums).

Thanks to Doherty's considerable drug use, and a few other factors (mainly Pete's drug problems) the band broke up. The members of The Libertines have gone on to new bands, with varying degrees of critical success.

Sound Bites: Eating on Tour with "Franz Ferdinand" is a great coffee table book that details Alex Kapranos's food adventures while touring the world with the rock band Franz Ferdinand. The writing is as much about where he eats and the people he eats with as the unusual flavors he tastes on the road. Whether it's munching donuts with cops in Brooklyn, swallowing bull's balls with the band in Buenos Aires or queuing for a saveloy in South Shields, these are surprising and vivid snapshots of life on the road.

For Spring 2007 , designer John Galliano presented a gimmick free ( boring) Christian Dior collection that is sure to appeal to an international Christian Dior audience.

With a palette of grey and beige , Galliano offered skirt-suits with armor detailing and asymmetric necklined dresses, with silver chain embroidery

The collection while wearable , seems to be missing the Galliano punch. ( It looks like Galliano was depressed when he worked on the collection) - Spring-Summer is suppose to be light and fun ... Dior strays from the norm.
